CCD Issues Administrative Hold on Bluebonnet Labs-Tested Products

February 14, 2025 – The New Mexico CCD has placed an administrative hold on all products tested by Bluebonnet Labs, LLC, following a court order issued on February 12, 2025. Effective immediately, affected products must be quarantined, and licensees are required to comply with mandatory retesting protocols before they can be sold.

Key Actions Required:

  1. Segregation of Affected Products – All Bluebonnet Labs-tested products must be identified and stored separately. These SKUs will be locked in BioTrack and cannot be sold until cleared.

  2. Mandatory Retesting – Products must be tested for microbials, pesticides, and residual solvents at a CCD-approved laboratory (not Bluebonnet Labs). A clean Certificate of Analysis (COA) is required for release.

  3. Retesting Process – Producers or manufacturers who last transferred affected products to retailers are responsible for retesting and covering costs. Retailers must coordinate with suppliers for updated COAs and avoid duplicate testing unless designated as the sample sender.

  4. Releasing Products from Hold – Once a clean COA is obtained, the secondary testing lab will submit results to CCD, which will then unlock the product in BioTrack. Retailers must retain copies of retest COAs for compliance audits.

  5. Destruction Option – Licensees may opt to destroy affected products but must notify CCD and provide proof of destruction within 72 hours.

Failure to comply with these directives may lead to enforcement actions. For further assistance, licensees can contact CCD at 505-476-4995 or administrativehold@rld.nm.gov.
